GuideThe Fallen Manor
The Fallen Manor
Somewhere out in the wild stands the overgrown house of a family nobody remembers. Drive out whoever moved in, find the family's last will, and make the manor your own family seat.

Finding a manor
Fallen manors are rare: about one in every thousand blocks, in plains, forests and taiga, always on level ground. Look for a long stone wall with a gatehouse, and the broken roof of a big house behind it. Each manor belongs to a different lost family, such as Ravensworth Manor. Innkeepers sometimes sell a rumour that points the way.
Drive out the squatters
When you walk through the gate, the people who moved in come out to meet you: the Usurper, with a boss bar, and a band of pillagers. They grow stronger as your house's renown grows. If you fall, they wait there for your heir.
The last will
With the Usurper gone, the family's last will can be found. It lies torn in four pages, one in each of these places:
- The library, in the chest by the shelves.
- The study, in the chest behind the desk.
- The cellar, in a barrel. The way down is a ladder in the library's corner.
- The garden, in the chest by the dead tree.
Bring all four to the lectern in the great hall and right-click it. The will opens as a scroll, with a button to make the manor your family seat.

Your family seat
Claiming the manor earns the house 10 renown, a line in the Chronicle and an announcement to the whole server. The gate's sign now reads Seat of House …. A house has one seat; claiming another manor moves it.
- The steward moves in to the great hall, with the family vault. A house without a steward gets one.
- The Sacrifice can be performed at the seat, as well as at an ancestor's grave.
- The family graveyard: every ancestor of the house gets a gravestone in the manor's walled garden, with their name, epithet, generation and the days they lived. Every family member who dies after that gets one too, so the garden fills up as the generations pass.
