Getting started

In Bloodline Chronicles you don't play one hero: you play a family. When your character dies, they are gone for good, and one of their children carries on the line.

The idea

Every family member is born with traits they partly inherit from their parent. Gear carried across generations becomes a named heirloom that grows stronger and stays with the family. Each death leaves the next generation duties: avenge the fallen, visit their grave, finish what they started. Over many lives, your house works through the Founder's Oath, a four-act quest that no single character can finish alone. Everything your family does is written into the Chronicle, a book that tells your family's story.

Bloodline Chronicles is a Fabric mod for Minecraft 26.3. It runs on the server, so players can join a Bloodline Chronicles server with normal, unmodded Minecraft. Players who also install the mod in their own game (and everyone in singleplayer) get Bloodline Chronicles' illustrated screens: the Chronicle as an open book and choices as parchment scrolls. Without the mod, the same content shows as a plain book and Minecraft's own windows.

Your first steps

The first time you join, you found a house: you get a character name and a house name (for example Elske Ashford of House Ashford), two traits, the Chronicle book and a map to the nearest village.

  1. Open the Chronicle (right-click the book; it's in your first hotbar slot). It opens as a book with two pages side by side and bookmark tabs on the right: click a tab to jump to that section, and turn pages with the arrows or the arrow keys. It updates each time you open it.
  2. Swear an oath: on the book's Main Quest pages, pick one of the three oaths and click [Swear this oath]. Only the head of the house can do this.
  3. Work on your founding goals. They are in the Chronicle under Duties.

Founding goals

Every new house starts with four small goals that get it on its feet.

Founding goalWhat to doReward
Raise the banner of your housePlace any banner3 levels, 2 renown

Your character's name replaces your account name in chat, the tab list and death messages.

The Chronicle

The Chronicle is the heart of the mod: everything you need is in it, so you never have to remember a command. Its bookmark tabs take you straight to each section:
